Principle of As-300 Hall Flowmeter

Principle of As-300 Hall Flowmeter Hall Flow Rate of 50 g metal powders AS-300 Hall Flowmeter Funnel determines flow rate by measuring the time taken by 50 gram of a metal powder to flow through a calibrated hall flowmeter funnel/orifice of standardized dimensions(0.1 inch/2.5 mm) according to International Standards. Apparent Density of free-flowing powders AS-300 Hall Flowmeter determines the apparent density by permitting a volume or certain quantity of powder in a loose condition to flow from a hall flowmeter funnel orifice Diameter 0.1 inch/2.5 mm into a specified density cup of definite volume(25 cm³) under controlled conditions.  The mass of powder per unit volume (the ratio between the mass and the volume) is recorded and reported as apparent density. Apparent Density of non-free-flowing powders AS-300 Hall Flowmeter determines the apparent density by permitting a volume or certain quantity of powder in a loose condition to flow from a Car

Metallurgical Conventional Process of steel making 2020-2021

Image
Conventional process of steel making.  Their are three basic type of conventional process:- A) Basic Bessemer/ Thomas process                          In this process molten pig iron is held in a vessel with perforated bottom called a converter. Cold air or oxygen enriched blast is forced through the metal from below as shown in figure .refining is complete in about 15-20 minutes and taking into account the time required for charging, tapping, repairs, etc. A tap-to-tap time of about 30-35 minutes are required. This is a autogeneous process, no external heat is needed.  The exothermic chemical reaction during refining provide the necessary heat in order to maintain the metal well above its melting point,  in spite of the fact that, cold air is blown through.  Basic Bessemer process figure B) Open Hearth process                          The furnace in this process is fairly shallow basic lined vessel as shown in figure and hence the name.                                              Steel classification                                   The chemical composition of steel broadly divide them two major groups are :-  A)  Plan carbon steel                                  B)  Alloy steel Types of steel                     A)  Plan carbon steel                                                       Plain carbon steels are broadly sub - divided into four major types based on their carbon contents. These are not strict divisions based on carbon contents but are generally broad divisions as a basic of classification. This division is definitely useful. These are :- 1) soft or low carbon steel - Upto 0.15% c. 2) Mild steels - in the range 0.15 - 0.35% c. 3) Medium carbon steel - in the range 0.35 - 0.65% c. 4) High carbon steel - in the range 0.65 - 1.75% c. Atomization process and their types

Image
Atomization Atomization. Atomization, also called the spraying method, is a process in which molten metals are broken into small drops of liquid by high-speed fluids (gas as air or inert gas; liquid as water) or fluids with centrifugal force, and then solidified into powder. There are types of Atomization process are: 1.1 Water Atomization In the commercial production of metal powders water atomization is the pre-eminent mode; attendant capacity worldwide is at least 700000 tyr−1 with production rates up to 500 kg min−1. Water atomization is used primarily for ferrous compositions but can be used to produce a range of nonferrous alloys. It is lower in cost than other modes of atomization but limitations exist in relation to powder purity, particularly with reactive metals and alloys. Nozzles used in water atomization are either in the form of discrete multiple nozzles or an annular slit concentric with the metal stream.

Electrolysis process And reduction process information

Image
Electrolysis                   In this method, an electrolytic cell is set up as shown in figure.  The desired metal is made to act as anode. Anode slowly dissolves and gets deposited on the cathode from where the deposit is removed, washed and dried. Fig: Electrolysis                                                             Reduction                               Reduction process is carried out in an atmosphere controlled furnace. In reduction process, the compounds of metals usually oxides like iron oxides are reduced with CO/H at temperature below melting point of metal. Tungsten, molybdenum, iron, cobalt, nickel powders are commercially produced by this process.    Related :- materials, physical metallurgy, information, materials science, science, mining metallurgy engineering, materials engineering, physical, facebook, journal, mining, metals, chemical, metal, ferrous, category, technology, under

Crushing process information

Crushing Introduction :-In mineral processing or metallurgy, the first stag of comminution Is crushing .In principle ,compression crushing issued on hard and abrasive rocks by placing them between a high wear-resistant plate/surface .Less abrasive and softer rocks or stones are crushed by impact and shear but also compressive mechanisms. Crushing process :-Crushing is the process of reducing the size of material also that they can be further processed .These include, but are not limited to , waste and recycling ,mining, food processing ,construction ,and coal. Industrial crushers are primarily used to take very large pieces of material and make them smaller. Types of Crusher There are three types of crusher. Types of crusher depend on the feeding method. These are; Primary crusher Secondary crusher Tertiary crusher                  Primary crusher has the ability to receive the crushing mate

Milling process information

Milling Introduction :-Milling is a process performed with a machine in which the cutters rotate to remove the material from the work piece present in the direction of the angle with the tool axis. With the help of the milling machines one can perform many operations and functions starting from small objects to large ones.                         Milling machining is one of the very common manufacturing processes used in machinery shops and industries to manufacture high precision products and parts in different shapes and sizes. types of milling machines 1) Vertical Milling Machines :- The vertical mill has a vertically arranged spindle axis and rotate by staying at the same axis. The spindle can also be extended and performing functions such as drilling and cutting. Vertical mill has got two further categories as well: turret mill and bed mill.                         The turret mill has got a table that moves perpendicularly and parallel to the spindle axis in order to cut th
